When Dexter Teague first looked at Bendable, he said, it didn’t seem to offer anything “for someone like me”—a person who has overcome addiction and spent years in prison. But the more he explored, the more he realized how much learning there is for everyone in the community. Now, Dexter is working his way through a Career Collection, a learning pathway backed by a major South Bend employer, as he acquires the skills to be a machine operator. “That is real-life stuff,” he said. “That is something that can give someone hope.”
